This October, the Zac Brown Band hosting the first ever Southern Ground music and food festival.
True to its name, the festival features tons of delicious food from some of the world’s top chefs. There are also upgraded concession stands.
“This is real wine and real food,” said frontman Zac Brown. “It’s not just what’s cheap. It’s not a $12 bag of nachos with some Cheez Whiz on them.”

Just when it looked like the Zac Brown Band couldn’t be having a better year, the Grammy nominations were announced. ZBB has been honored with four Grammy nods!
Topping their 2010 sole win of Best New Artist, the Zac Brown Band earned nominations in the following categories:
Best Country Album for “You Get What You Give”
Best Country Collaboration With Vocals for “As She’s Walking Away” featuring Alan Jackson

The Zac Brown Band was nominated for four CMA Awards this year, including the prestigious Entertainer of the Year Award, where they will be met with with competition from Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban.
Other nomination categories include New Artist of the Year against Luke Bryan, Easton Corbin, Jerrod Niemann and Chris Young; Song of the Year (for “Toes”); and Vocal Group of the Year against Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts and The Band Perry.
The Zac Brown Band was nominated for four CMA Awards last year, but left empty-handed, so let’s hope that they pull through this year! Be sure to check out all the action on Nov. 10, as the ceremony airs live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. You can also get 2010 CMA Award tickets to watch it live.

The Zac Brown Band had accumulated four nominations for the 45th Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards: Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, Single Record of the Year, and Top Vocal Group. Brown himself picked up two nominations as producer for Album of the Year “Foundation” and Single Record of the Year “Toes”.
At this past Sunday’s ceremony, the Zac Brown Band was not victorious but that was ok. The band was halfway around the world in the Persian Gulf. They opted to skip the ceremony to perform for thousands of our soldiers as part of a USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour. Video footage was broadcast during the awards ceremony as a reminder for the American people.
Zac Brown spoke, “We want to show our support for the military and just remind everyone that it’s still real, and it’s still going on. Americans have been giving up months and months of their lives, some of them years, so we’re excited to get to entertain them.”
This is the band’s first USO tour and while overseas, they will be filming the music video for their fifth single, Free.
